πŸ“… When: Saturday, March 7, 2026
⏰ Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
πŸ“ Where: Stony Brook University Pool

πŸ‘§πŸ§’ Ages: 5–10 years old only

  • Dolphins Lesson Program: Ages 5–8
  • Competitive Teams: Ages 5–10

🚨 Expectations / Requirements 🚨

  • Swimmers must have prior formal swim instruction, including:
    • Swim schools, clinics, or summer lesson programs (Saf-T-Swim, Goldfish, Stony Brook clinics, Ward Melville community swim lessons, etc.)
    • Private lessons with a qualified swim instructor or coach
  • Swimmers must be comfortable in the water and able to swim independently in the deep end without assistance

🏊 Skill Expectations by Age

  • Ages 5–6: Familiar with at least two strokes (freestyle and backstroke) and have an understanding of the remaining two strokes (breaststroke and butterfly)
  • Age 7: Familiar with at least three strokes (freestyle, backstroke, and either breaststroke or butterfly) and have an understanding of the fourth stroke
  • Ages 8–10: Familiar with all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly)

❗ Please note: The Dolphins Program is not a learn-to-swim program. All skill expectations listed above also apply to swimmers interested specifically in Dolphins.

πŸ“Œ Placement is based on the coaching staff’s evaluation and recommendation.
Tryouts provide an opportunity for TVSC coaches to assess each swimmer’s skills and determine whether placement within our programs is an appropriate fit.
