Chappy's Big Race Invite - Nassau Aquatic Center - October 21-22

Meet host, LIAC, tried something new at the annual Chappy's Big Race Invite: a pool deck D.J.

In between events, swimmers were reluctantly dancing on the pool deck, until they found out that rubber ducky key rings were handed out to teams who danced the most.  It was not cool for most Jr2s to dance but the Jr1s did and had a lot of fun doing it. 

Rayna Mossey lost a bet with Holden Stencel in the 1,000 free and now must swim with floaties in Monday's practice.  If Rayna won, Holden would have to practice in a female swim suit.

 

79 athletes raced 330 times and swam 200 best times -- 61%. Total time improvement 690 seconds, or more than 11 minutes.

Note that the older the swimmers, the fewer best times they swim and this is all normal.  Of course the coaches do not like when the senior swimmers are not even trying and add 4 or more seconds slower than their best times

New time standards: 1 'AAAA' time, 5 'AAA' times, 7 'AA' times, 12 'A' times, 34 'BB' times, and 25 'B' times.

New qualification times: 2 Senior Mets cuts, 1 Eastern Zone Age Group Champs cut, 22 Age Group Champs cuts, 25 Holiday Classic cuts, 21 Holiday Classic Bonus cuts, and 31 Silver cuts.
