Last Holtsville practice

Holtsville - 6:30 AM - September 4, 2023 - A perfect morning for an early outdoor practice on Labor Day. 

In previous years TVSC would train outside for the first 4 to 5 weeks of the new season, but only two weeks this year. 

While most swimmers and parents are happy about the last Holtville practice of the summer, the TVSC coaching staff is not.  We like coaching at the Holtsville pool, surrounded by trees in fresh air. There is plenty of room and wide lanes.  An 8-lane 50 meter pool is more that 3 times as large as a 6-lane 25 yard pool. And this is the reason TVSC practices at three different pools during the indoor season.

The indoor season starts tomorrow, of course, with a late summer heatwave.  We hope that the air conditioning is working in the SBU, Ward Melville and SBS indoor pools this week . . . . .
