TVSC Finishes 2nd at Long Course Senior Zone Championships
Buffalo, NY –
13 members of the Senior Zone TVSC Team competed against over 70 of the top teams from Virginia to Connecticut and finished 2nd place overall in the combined women’s and men’s team scores.
The TVSC women were in 4th place and down 6 points heading into the last event of the competition to Cougar Aquatic Team of New Jersey. The top-seeded 400 medley relay squad of Lauren Woody, Marissa DeMarco, Emily Herr and Amelia Griffin won a Gold Medal and jumped into 3rd place overall in the women’s team competition.
The TVSC men were in 2nd place by only 7.5 points entering the final event, just ahead of Gator Swim Club of New England. The A 400 medley relay team of Trevor Green, Max Buchen, Timmy Brady and Vinny Vinciguerra ended the weekend with an exclamation point by winning the Gold Medal and establishing a new team record, as the men locked down 2nd place overall in their respective competition.
A weekend filled with this many team records, Junior National Cuts, medals and personal bests is hard to summarize. Below is a breakdown of some of the highlights for each of our 13 swimmers – all of who scored either individual or relay points – with Emily Herr and Trevor Green both finishing as runner-up high point winners for the whole competition.
