34 TVSC Swimmers at First Cedar Beach Open Water Practice - June 29, 2023

Start of the open water practice under great conditions 

Due to our the cool spring, the Long Island Sound water temperature of Cedar Beach was only in the low to mid sixties or much cooler than normal.  However, this afternoon before 5 PM most of the TVSC swimmers were already in the water!

The 34 "diehard" swimmers after their first open water practice

Most Junior 1s swam one lap around the Cedar Beach swimming area buoys - about 700 yards.  Everyone else and Coach Kate swam two laps or around 1300 yards.  Great first practice!

Weather depending, we will hold another Cedar Beach open water practice early next week.
