TVSC Finishes 9th Place Overall at TYR Senior Met Championships

This past weekend TVSC competed against 42 other teams from the Metropolitan area at Senior Met Championships.  The women finished in 7th place overall, the men finished in 7th place overall, while TVSC finished 9th place in the combined team scores.

On Thursday, Timmy Brady started TVSC off with an 11-second improvement in the 1000 Freestyle, clocking a 9:49.20.

On Friday, Marissa DeMarco placed 3rd in the 100 Breast with a 1:04.16, while Bella Dimaculangan finished in 10th place with a 1:05.24.  Max Buchen finished 2nd in the 100 Breast with a 56.99, while Trevor Green tied for 16th in his preliminary swim, then won his swim-off by .01 clocking a 59.09 to earn a spot in the B-Final, eventually finishing 16th and breaking the 1 minute barrier for the second time in one day.  Vinny Vinciguerra finished 7th place In the 200 Free with a 1:41.44.  Emily Herr (Best time at Finals 4:24.12) and Timmy Brady (Best time at Prelims 4:04.48) both finished 7th place in the 400 IM to end the night.

On Saturday, Emily Herr placed 4th in the 200 IM clocking the fastest time by a 15-year-old swimmer in 2:03.40.  Bella Dimaculangan finished in 12th place with a 2:05.63.  Timmy Brady finished 7th place in the 200 IM with a new personal best of 1:54.76.  Richie Hall III qualified for sectionals in the 500 Free touching the wall with a 4:46.86, nearly 2.5 seconds faster than his time at Section XI County Championships only 1 week earlier.  The 400 Medley relay team of Trevor Green (52.50), Max Buchen (56.98), Noah Giunta (50.14) and Vinny Vinciguerra (46.39) broke the 2017 Boys Open 400 Medley Relay Record from Ryan Kaplan, David He, Jake Vecchio, and Nick Bogush by 2 sec - 3:26.0.  This time is also faster than the 15-18 400 Medley Team Record.

On Sunday, Richie Hall III dropped 22 seconds in the 1650 (16:30.59) and also swam a best time in 500 free, earning his first two sectional cuts.  Emily Herr and Marissa DeMarco finished 6th and 7th in the A-Final of the 200 Breast, while Max Buchen and Timmy Brady finished 4th and 6th in the same event on the men’s side.  Vinny Vinciguerra swam in his second freestyle A-Final of the meet, finishing 8th with a 46.61 in the 100 Free.  Emily Herr finished 8th in the 200 Fly.  The 400 Free relays both placed in the top 10 to finish up the weekend with the men finishing in 7th place (Noah Giunta, Ethan Placencia-Nazareno, Trevor Green, Vinny Vinciguerra) and the women in 10th place (Bella Dimaculangan, MaryGrace Waring, Makayla Lee, Emily Herr).
