More Highlights

Trevor Green had an unbelievable meet!  He broke four 13-14 Team Records we thought would never be broken again.  He crushed Jason Louser's 2016 500 free record by 5 seconds: 4:33.3.  He broke his own 200 back record from last December by 1/4 second.  He broke the 2006 200 fly team record of butterflyler Tom Luchsinger by 1 second: 1:53.3. He broke Jason Louser's 2015 200 IM record 0.9 seconds: 1:54.3.  And he swam a 4:00.9 in the 400 IM that would have broken Jason Louser record by 5 seconds, but . . . . the officials disqualified Trevor for a false strart.

Brendan Miller broke a 1999 (24 year old) 11-12 team record in 100 back held by Shaun Armstrong by 0.06 sec - 57.68.

Congrats both!

We don't tell you who did this, but just to remind you that you don't slow down when the lap counter moves the lap counter side-to-side . . . .

The aquatic center in the 400,000 square feet Eppley Recreation Center is one of the nicest on the East-Coast. I

Coach Chris is an U of Maryland alumnus and competed for the Terrapins college team.

The meet is scored by Power Points per age (not by age group).  The power points achieved for each of the five or six events are added together, and the 16 male and female athletes for each age with the highest number of points get awards at the end of the meet.

History of IMX Games

USA-Swimming introduced the first IM-Xtreme Games in the 2010-2011 season to promote competing in the longer and more difficult events.  TVSC started competing the second North-East IMX Games 12 years ago in 2012 at the Tacoma Aquatic Center in Wahsington DC.

In that first IMX meet for TVSC, Coach Rita finished in 26th place for 13-year old girls with 2948 points (5:42, 2:20, 2:52, 2:38, 2:23, 5:03 - all best times).

TVSC alumni competing in the 2012 meet were: 11-year olds Luka Zuric, Cameron Kubic, and Charlie Shemet, 12-year olds Chris O'Shea and Andrew Stange, 13-year olds Brittany Coughlin (assitant women's swim coach SBU) and Coach Rita Chen.
