TVSC National Team Shines at Eastern Zone Sectionals

15 TVSC swimmers competed from Thursday to Sunday in the Eastern Zone Sectionals at Ithaca College.  Competing against nearly 60 teams from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, New England and Michigan – TVSC placed 5^th overall out of 58 teams that scored points at the competition.  All events (except distance events) were prelims and finals with the top 36 swimmers qualifying for finals and the top 18 swimmers scoring points.   

TVSC Women finished in 4^th place out of 36 teams that scored points with 344 total points.  Emily Herr led the TVSC women with 95 individual points, along with Kate Sommerstad (61 Individual Points) and Bella Dimaculangan (50 Individual Points).  Hannah Brockman (26 Points), Olivia Schlegel (10 Points) and Marissa Demarco (2 Points) rounded out the individual scoring for the TVSC women.  Saige Kazlauskas contributed to the point total competing on 3 relays, Brennyn Veit qualified for finals in the 500 Free and 200 Breast and Avagrace Monti qualified for finals in the 100 Breast.   

TVSC Men finished in 5^th place out of 48 teams that scored points with 224 total points.  Liam Preston led the TVSC men with 90 individual points, along with Noah Giunta’s 18 points.  Liam (1:37.74) and Noah (1:44.54) teamed up with Vinny Vinciguerra (1:44.04) and Timmy Brady (1:46.76) to break the TVSC record in the 800 Free Relay previously established in 2019 by almost 3 seconds, clocking a 6:53.08.  Trevor Green added relay points and qualified for finals in the 200 Backstroke, while Frankie Andersen added relay points and qualified for finals in the 200 Fly.
