40 TVSC swimmers competed at the 2nd Cedar Beach Open Water race. Last year we set a goal of 80 TVSC swimmers at this year's Cedar Beach race. The reason for not meeting this was the cool spring which kept the water temperature in the Sound below normal. Under perfect conditions 44 Junior team swimmers completed the Holtsville Biathlon. However, I messed up and most Jr2 swimmers in lanes 5 and 6 swam only 900 meters. Lizzy, Chelsie, Brendan and Branka ignored me screaming on the side of the pool to stop, and completed their last 100 meter anyway. Way to go! The Eastern Zone Open Water Championships were held this past weekend in the inland bay off Beesleys Point near Ocean City in New Jersey. Three Village Swim Club was represented by the Casalinuovo family who traveled to this event.to compete on Father's Day. Johnny and Alyssa raced in the 2.5 K and Joey in the mile.
