Arwen Dassen Breaks 8&Under 50 Free Team Record at the February Freeze

In the last Silver Champs qualifying meet of the short course season, 55 TVSC swimmers raced 249 times at the Sachem February Freeze meet in Sachem East HS and swam 148 best times -- 59%. Total time improvement 293 seconds, or more than 4 minutes. New time standards: 5 'AA' times, 14 'A' times, 14 'BB' times, and 8 'B' times. New qualification times: 1 Senior Mets cuts, 5 Eastern Zone Age Group Champs cuts, 6 JO cuts, and 22 Silver cuts.

Arwen Dassen broke Emily Herr’s 2016 team record (31.11) in the 8 & Under 50 Freestyle by clocking a 31.06.  Emily has plenty more team records that will stand for many years and would be the first person to congratulate Arwen on her accomplishment.
