TVSC Performs Well at the 2022 Metro Open Water Championships at Rye Town Beach

Peter Smit

The weather forecasters were wrong (again).  On Friday the marine forecast for the Long Island Sound for Saturday morning was rain showers, windy and 2 to 3 foot waves.  However, the meet director did not want to cancel the Metro Open Water Championships again like they did in 2019.

However, Saturday morning at 9:00 AM the condition at Rye Town Beach was partially sunny and calm - the water temperature was warmer than the air temperature.  It was a lot cooler than in 2021, but still perfect conditions for an open water meet!
