Izzy Gedeon Wins the 2022 Cedar Beach Run-Swim-Run - July 31

With perfect weather conditions, the 2022 Town of Brookhaven Lifeguard Run-Swim-Run was held this morning at Cedar Beach. 

Nine swimmers participated in the TVSC heat of the Run-Swim-Run. 

In the swimming leg, the leading group with Alyssa, Mila and Liam did not study the Run-Swim-Run course well enough and missed swimming around the next to last buoy.  Liam corrected his mistake, increasing his swimming time 2 1/2 to 3 minutes!  However, the lifequards on the course were not able to get the girl's attention, so they were disqualified (the shortcut reduced their swimming time by only about 30 seconds). 

With his strong running, rookie Junior 2 swimmer, Izzy Gedeon won the TVSC Run-Swim-Run heat by 18 seconds over second place finisher, Joe Monahan.

Great job also by Liam (for finishing the race), Nate, Paulina, Morgan and Joey.

Izzy, Joe, Nate, Pauline and Morgan also participated in the Holtsville Biathlon yesterday!

Alyssa, Mila and Liam will have a do-over next summer as 15-year old Town of Brookhaven lifeguards!
